Earth, water, and amazing architecture make for some one-of-a-kind places you won’t want to miss. In the small town of Culver, the college prep school of Culver Academies stretches along beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee on a campus distinguished by red-brick gothic-style buildings (one houses a museum). At serene Ancilla College in Donaldson, the school’s lovely “Chapel in the cornfields” displays wood-carved statues from Germany and soaring Neo-Gothic columns. Up for some star-gazing? Potawatomi Park along the Tippecanoe River is home to the state’s first Dark Sky Preserve.
