The fantastic Knit Sweaters that Fit event will take place this Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM located at the MoonTree Studios 9638 on Union Road in Plymouth, IN 46563. Many knitters love to knit, yet are unhappy with the finished product. Have you avoided patterns that require seaming? In this hands-on experience we will look at shaping and blocking. We will practice seaming, master the mattress stitch, and learn finishing tips that start even before we cast on. We will identify common pitfalls and practice solutions. Gain the confidence and skills to give your garments the professional finish they deserve. In the SOS segment (Save Our Sweaters) we will attempt several rescue strategies to save sweaters that just don’t fit right. You may use swatches or bring an old sweater and practice on your sweater.

The last event around us on Saturday, October 14th 2017 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM is the Bats of Northern Indiana. You can join biologist Jeremy Sheets for a discussion of bat biology and ecology, focusing on the species and populations in northern Indiana. Emerging trends, diseases, and other topics related to the study of bats will be discussed. They will even attempt to discover bat populations at The Center of Donaldson as we’ll be on the lookout for bats emerging from the eaves of the Ancilla Domini Motherhouse at sunset. End the evening back at MoonTree for coffee, cocoa and conversation. You may win the door prize--a bat house, to invite bats to live in your neighborhood! Wear sturdy shoes or boots for walking; we’ll have some golf carts available for those that can’t walk between MoonTree Studios and the Motherhouse.
