Japanese Woodworking: Morning Glory Lantern

Japanese Woodworking: Morning Glory Lantern

Saturday, August 12, 2017
9:00am - 2:00pm

This Japanese lantern combines delicate paper with heavier architectural frame elements, yielding a pleasant balance of forms. The square legs enclose the lantern and support a solid wood top, with mitered corners. The side openings are covered with shoji rice paper to cast a warm glow from the light within. The lantern will cast a warm glow wherever you place it. You’ll assemble your own Morning Glory Table Lantern, choosing to make it from pre-cut recycled or new lumber. (Please specify your choice of new or recycled lumber and bring a sack lunch.)
